Case Studies

Very Ethical are a new company. We are however very proud of the fact that we have some presigious clients already on our books.

Capgemini

Capgemini/Prince’s Trust

As a leading global consultancy firm, good corporate social responsibility is good business at Capgemini.

The Consultancy sector is not traditionally known for reporting its impacts, which is why Capgemini were pleased to be working with Very Ethical to deliver the marketing communications for their first carbon neutral corporate business event.

The Black and White Ball corporate event successfully brings together the environment and community streams of Capgemini’s sustainability programme. The Capgemini Black and White Ball focuses on three vital strands: the need for environmental change, redefining luxury through eco-chic and improving the lives of young people through active support and involvement with the Prince’s Trust.

Carbon neutrality has been achieved for this event through offsetting carbon emissions by purchasing carbon credits in environmentally friendly schemes elsewhere in the world. All aspects of the ball echoed these goals with every guest of the ball receiving a love your world jute goodie bag full of eco luxury items which has been designed by members of the Prince’s Trust Scotland XL Clubs.

‘In the bag when it comes to doing their bit for the environment, RBS Group Property has bags of ideas’

RBS used a internal ‘Very Ethical’ poster campaign in their onsite UK and Republic of Ireland restaurants to encourage all RBS employees to think about reducing their environmental impact in a memorable effective way. This campaign was supplemented by rolling out an environmental initiative to reduce the number of single use bags handed out in the RBS Group Property restaurants.

Dundee City Council

Dundee City Council

Very Ethical assisted Dundee City Council in the successful delivery of the effective ‘change is in the bag’ marketing communications for their Christmas Environmental Community campaign to raise awareness about the importance of the community reducing their environmental impact. George Regan, convener of the Dundee Council's environment services committee, was delighted with the delivery of the project and the amount of media interest generated.

The Very Ethical ‘love your world’ plastic bag free marketing campaign gave local councils an opportunity to promote the reuse, reduce, recycle message. Before the big pbf (plastic bag free) day, publicity marketing such as info leaflets and posters grabbed the public’s attention raising awareness of eco issues and also the local authority’s profile.

The campaign was backed by key representatives from Overgate Shopping centre, Borders books and The Hilton Dundee.

Karen Stewart, Overgate’s general manager, said, “It is our aim to be one of Scotland’s most environmentally friendly shopping centres and we are committed to supporting recycling and waste awareness initiatives that benefit the whole community.”

Robbie Glendinning, operations manager at Borders Books, said, “This is a great local campaign that Borders are delighted to support.

“It’s exactly the kind of initiative we feel our customers would expect us to get involved with and we hope they’ll get down to the store at the weekend to do some Christmas shopping and pick up their complimentary bags.”

Tom McDermott, general manager at the Hilton Dundee, added, “The Hilton Dundee is dedicated to protecting and conserving the environment and reducing waste, and I am confident that people will embrace the idea of a plastic bag free city over the coming weeks and months.

Peros

Peros

Peros, the UK’s leading Corporate independent Fairtrade coffee supply company puts its success down to the partnerships it creates and develops throughout its business. At the heart of their success is their ethical trading partnership with Fairtrade which has not only generated year on year growth for Peros, but also with the support of their corporate customers, helped move Fairtrade products from a niche market in to the mainstream.

Very Ethical worked with Peros for the successful distribution and communication of the ‘change is in the bag’ RBS environmental campaign marketing and promotional merchandise material. The ‘change is in the bag’ environmental jute lunch bags and Very Ethical marketing campaign complements Pero’s existing corporate Fairtrade range which offers a complete package of ethical and environmentally-friendly products from a single supplier.

Professionals accountable for CSR issues with corporate organisations benefit from specifying both biodegradable and Fairtrade products for use in their company coffee bars, restaurants and vending machines. The move is simple cost effective step that allows colleagues, staff and visitors to recognise that the organisation takes its environmental CSR seriously.
